Job summary

ANS invites candidates pursuing a degree in geosciences or related fields to join our geotechnical lab as a Lab Engineer Intern. The role focuses on sample preparation and executing tests in accordance with established standards in an in-house lab.

This in-person position is four months long, with potential extensions or a full-time offer after graduation. Typical day includes 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend work and emphasis on safety and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in geosciences or related field.
• Experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Ability to follow established testing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare soil and rock samples for testing.
• Perform geotechnical tests per established ASTM/AASHTO protocols.
• Maintain and clean lab workstation and equipment.
• Record procedures, observations and results accurately.
• Support packaging, shipping, and restocking lab supplies.
• Ensure safety compliance and promote a safe work environment.
• Multi-task effectively in a hands-on lab setting.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.
