Job summary

ECS Group of Companies seeks an experienced engineering leader to manage Geotechnical and Materials Testing teams in Macon or Marietta, GA. As Group Manager, you will lead project delivery, technical quality, safety, staff development, and client growth across geotechnical and construction materials testing services.

You will mentor teams, oversee field testing and lab coordination, review reports, and pursue repeat client work while maintaining margins.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting geotechnical or construction materials testing services with leadership responsibility
• Oversee field testing and lab coordination for CMT and soils, with knowledge of methods and standards
• Review technical reports and client deliverables for accuracy and professional judgement
• Strong business acumen with departmental P&L experience
• Excellent project management and organizational abilities
• Committed to safety and engineering excellence

Responsibilities

• Manage multidisciplinary projects from proposal through closeout.
• Provide oversight and mentorship on field testing, CPT, and laboratory coordination.
• Review geotechnical/materials testing reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Assemble and lead project teams, set expectations, guide execution through full lifecycle.
• Oversee project financials, schedules, and deliverables to meet scope and margin targets.
• Maintain quality control, safety standards, and engineering best practices.
• Support field operations and coordinate with drilling, labs, and clients.
• Pursue new business through networking, proposals, and client relationships.
• Manage branch-level budgets, hiring, coaching, and training plans.
• Promote company values and high employee engagement.
