Job summary

JDS seeks a Geotechnical Engineering Technician I to work with the team on soil testing and 3rd party inspections. You will visit sites, perform soil tests, record results, and act as a brand ambassador for JDS.

Responsibilities include interpreting plans, using equipment for soil testing, and maintaining test documentation. Basic qualifications include a high school diploma and strong communication skills; construction experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Prior soil testing or construction exposure preferred but not required.
• Must be able to read basic plans and interpret field data.

Responsibilities

• Makes site visits and communicates with clients.
• Tests soils and performs 3rd party inspections per company standards.
• Documents soil testing results and prepares analyses.
• Operates field equipment to test soil properties (density, moisture).
• Utilizes plan readings to select testing methods and record data.
• Maintains safety practices and clean worksite procedures.
