Job summary

Earth Solutions NW (ESNW) is seeking Geotechnical Field Technician candidates for commercial and residential construction projects. Initial part-time work with potential full-time promotion after a 90-day review.

Responsibilities include field testing, soil sampling, and reporting. Applicants should have majors in Geology, Civil Engineering, or Earth Science and be able to perform on-site observations, communicate with teams, and travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Majors in Geology, Civil Engineering or Earth Science.
• Experience or ability in field testing and sampling.
• Ability to observe construction elements and document findings.

Responsibilities

• Perform observation and compaction testing with nuclear density gauge on earthwork and building pads.
• Collect and transport soil samples (35–50 lbs) for lab analysis.
• Document slope stability, rockery, walls, roadways, curbs and sidewalks.
• Observe temporary excavations including shoring systems.
• Assess foundation conditions and shallow/deep foundations.
• Monitor erosion control and test turbidity/pH of stormwater.
• Prepare daily field reports with professional, coherent writing.
• Communicate with contractors and project managers.
• Work hours may include early mornings, weekends or overtime.
• Travel to sites using personal vehicle capable of carrying equipment.
