Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates is seeking a near-entry level Geotechnical Engineer to support geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing/inspection projects in the mid-Atlantic region. You will perform field explorations, in-situ testing, lab analysis, and prepare technical reports under supervision.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering, is EIT certified, has 1–2 years of relevant experience or internships, and can work both in office and field environments,

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• EIT certification required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience; internships count.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical engineering and CMT projects for public and private clients.
• Conduct test borings and pit observations during subsurface explorations.
• Analyze field and laboratory data and prepare geotechnical reports.
• Classify soils and evaluate subsurface conditions per standards.
• Review CMT field reports and assist project managers and senior engineers.
