Job summary

Certerra is seeking a Geotechnical Field Engineer for its Anaheim, CA office. The role involves soil sampling, field and lab testing, and contributing to geotechnical reports. Some overnight travel across Southern California is required, and a PE is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualified candidates will have Civil Engineer credentials (PE preferred), relevant certifications, and strong MS Office skills. A clean driving record and background check are required.

Qualifications

• PE preferred but not required for the Geotech Field Engineer role.
• Certifications such as MSHA, ACI Field, ACI Strength, ATTI Field, ATTI Soils & Aggregate, ATTI Asphalt, ICC Structural Special Inspector are valued.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and strong technical writing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Sample and classify soils with drill rigs and excavators.
• Review aerial photography and engineering drawings.
• Assist in soil analysis and geotechnical report writing.
• Oversee soil sampling, boring/test pit operations and laboratory testing.
• Provide recommendations on foundation design, soil bearing pressures, slope stability, and lateral earth pressures.
• Coordinate with job-site contractors to solve problems.
