Job summary

Langan is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join our collaborative team in San Jose, CA or San Francisco, CA. You will help plan and execute field investigations, monitor foundation and earthwork construction, and assist in preparing geotechnical reports for large-scale projects.

A bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering is required, with 1+ years of experience and an EIT/FE certification. Travel to project sites is expected, and strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required.
• 1+ years of work-related experience.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• EIT Certification or FE registration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities; monitor conformance with the construction documents.
• Identify and implement solutions to field and laboratory problems.
• Prepare logs and field forms, daily investigation records, and chain of custody logs.
• Conduct file reviews, site reconnaissance, and document searches.
• Communicate problems to supervisor clearly.
• Perform other duties as requested.
