Job summary

Subsurface Construction Company offers an internship opportunity for students in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. You will develop elevation views and cross sections for estimators using project plans and AutoCAD, and you’ll prepare material takeoffs and quotes to assist with budgeting.

You’ll engage in early project startup activities, learn to assemble construction schedules, and participate in field testing of anchors, deep foundations and soil nails while upholding safety

Qualifications

• 3rd and 4th year students pursuing civil/geom disciplines
• GPA 3.0+ required
• Major in Construction Management or Civil Engineering

Responsibilities

• Develop elevation views & cross sections from project plans using AutoCAD
• Provide material quantity estimates (Takeoffs) for estimators
• Solicit material quotes from vendors for project estimating
• Prepare project budgets with schedules, material, equipment & labor estimates
• Participate in project startup meetings and develop action plans
• Conduct field testing on anchors, deep foundations & soil nails
