Job summary

NV5 has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager of Geotechnical/Civil/Materials Engineering in our Ventura, CA office. The successful candidate will serve as Engineering Manager for both design and construction inspection and testing projects.

The candidate will also serve as Project Manager in the delivery of construction materials testing and inspection services focused primarily on school and public infrastructure construction.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required; MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• Registered PE in California.
• 8+ years in a senior engineering leadership geotechnical/project construction role.
• 5+ years in testing and inspection of construction materials.
• 2+ years in special inspections or supervision of special inspection services.

Responsibilities

• Lab operations oversight for laboratory testing and special inspection services on DSA/HCAI, Caltrans and local projects.
• Review field and laboratory reports and plans/specifications.
• Manage projects from inception through completion and meet client expectations in technical quality, budget, and schedule.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop department staff; conduct annual performance reviews.
• Develop and review technical/cost proposals and support business development.
