Job summary

Foundation Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support customers by providing technical guidance, developing takeoffs and material quotes, and identifying value engineering opportunities for helical piles and anchors on a wide range of foundation projects.

This role involves translating geotechnical data into practical, buildable solutions while collaborating with contractors, design engineers, and sales to drive timely project outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural engineering or its demonstrated equivalent.
• EIT or PE certification preferred but not required.
• 5+ years Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural experience.
• Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, basic CAD.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and an active listener.
• Proven ability to build and strengthen relationships and customer service.
• Ability to collaborate with a team as well as work independently.
• High emotional intelligence.
• Able to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and efficiently while demonstrating patience and empathy.
• Hard worker, self starter, and curious.
• A positive, solution‑oriented attitude and mindset.
• Highly organized and attentive to details.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and technical guidance to engineers and contractors.
• Perform take-offs and material quotes for contractors.
• Track and follow up on projects.
• Cultivate engagement with the engineering community through involvement in groups and technical committees.
• Collaborate with sales to proactively identify value engineering opportunities where helical piles/anchors are a viable alternative.
• Prepare material submittal packages for customers.
• Identify and follow up with potential customers visiting the website.
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
• Engage in continuous learning to become an internal and external subject matter expert.

Education

BS or MS in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural engineering or its demonstrated equivalent

EIT or PE certification

5+ years Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural experience

Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office, basic CAD)

Strong written and oral communication skills

Customer service

Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
