Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer, P.E. to join our Bridgeport, West Virginia office. This role combines technical geotechnical work with project leadership and client relationship management to grow our geotechnical practice in the region.

You'll work with a multidisciplinary team and have opportunities for ownership within our employee-owned firm, with a focus on delivering high-quality projects and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• P.E. license in West Virginia or reciprocity.
• 8+ years geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in consulting.
• Experience managing geotechnical investigations and leading technical project work.
• Strong experience with geotechnical analysis, report prep, and foundation design.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies through all project phases.
• Support proposal development, project scoping, and client relationships.
• Oversee field drilling and sampling operations, ensuring data quality and safety.
• Prepare and review boring logs, lab testing programs, and data analysis.
• Lead geotechnical design for foundations, slopes, and retaining structures.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and project docs.
• Provide geotechnical input across projects including building foundations and infrastructure.
• Oversee construction materials testing services and site investigations.
• Mentor junior engineers, geologists, and field staff.

• Oversee construction materials testing services, including earthwork, concrete, foundations, masonry, and pavements
• Mentor and support junior engineers, geologists, and field staff
• Lead and manage geotechnical subsurface investigations, including planning, coordination, and execution
