Job summary

RESPEC in Anchorage, AK seeks a Geotechnical Engineer PE for a full‑time, onsite role supporting infrastructure projects across Alaska and the Lower 48. You will lead geotechnical field explorations, perform analyses, and prepare reports to back the design team.

The ideal candidate holds an Alaska PE, a civil/geotechnical degree, and strong writing skills, with willingness to travel to remote locations and collaborate with a multi‑discipline team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geotechnical, geological engineering or related field.
• Alaska PE registration with 1-2 years post-registration experience preferred.
• Strong technical writing and field exploration abilities.
• Willingness to travel across Alaska for field work.
• Knowledge of soil/rock mechanics and foundation design.

Responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical exploration plans.
• Conduct geotechnical field investigations.
• Prepare design calculations and reports.
• QC work by EITs and prepare geotechnical reports.
• Coordinate with civil/structural teams during design.
• Assist with project scopes and fee estimates.
