Job summary

Building & Earth Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to lead investigations, perform analyses, and design foundations and slope stabilization systems for diverse projects in Texas.

You will collaborate with project teams, monitor field activities, and deliver thorough reports while growing client relationships and contributing to business development. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years geotechnical experience, and a PE license (Texas preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of Geotechnical Engineering experience.
• PE license preferred (Texas).
• Experience with geotechnical investigations, reports, and testing plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and calculations.
• Design foundations, retaining structures and slope stabilization systems.
• Collaborate with project teams on geotechnical integration.
• Monitor construction activities for geotechnical compliance.
• Prepare clear reports and actionable recommendations.
• Track budgets and project financials; invoice clients accordingly.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Participate in professional meetings and business development as needed.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions
• Perform geotechnical analysis and calculations
• Design foundations, retaining structures, and slope stabilization systems
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate geotechnical considerations
• Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to geotechnical specifications
• Prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations

• Track budgets & project financials for accuracy; invoice clients appropriately.

• Maintain positive business relationships with clients, government officials, contractors, etc.

• Participate in professional meetings and/or business development functions as needed.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Geotechnical Engieering
• Professional Engineer (PE) License, preference to State of Texas
• Experience in geotechnical investigations, geotechnical (or related) reports, defining testing plans, interpreting test data, performing engineering analyses for foundation design, drilling, boring plan layout, site preparation issues, slope stability and seismic hazard evaluations, structural special inspections.
