Job summary

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with 3 to 7 years of experience for our Charlotte, North Carolina office.

You will support field observation and testing activities, coordinate drilling projects, oversee junior staff, and prepare detailed geotechnical exploration reports. The role requires PE/EIT credentials and strong analytical skills for calculations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field of study.
• P.E. or EIT is REQUIRED.
• 4 to 7 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Own Transportation, valid driver's license and good driving record.
• NICET, ACI and/or other certifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Support Construction Observation & Testing group.
• Coordinate and manage drilling projects and oversee junior staff.
• Coordinate and review laboratory testing.
• Prepare geotechnical exploration reports with accurate results.
• Perform engineering calculations (settlement, bearing capacity, lateral earth pressures, pavement section designs, slope stability).
• Generate scopes and fees for new projects and prepare proposals/budgets.
