Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to lead the geotechnical workstream for multi-site data center development. You will coordinate subsurface investigations, translate data into foundation design, and collaborate with structural, civil, and environmental teams to keep projects on schedule.

You will drive site selection, manage consultants, and optimize ground improvement strategies with a focus on safety, cost, and performance. PE/GE license is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience leading geotechnical engineering on large-scale site development.
• Ability to scope boring programs and translate subsurface data into foundation design.
• Experience selecting foundations: shallow, piles, or ground improvement.
• Experience managing external geotechnical consultants and labs.
• Skilled in identifying fatal flaws during due diligence.
• Bonus: PE or GE license; multi-state project experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the geotechnical workstream across multi-site development from screening to foundation design.
• Coordinate subsurface investigations: write RFPs, manage boring/CPT campaigns and lab testing.
• Interpret data to assign foundation systems, working with structural and civil teams.
• Set earthwork and grading strategy with Civil for pads and roads across campuses.
• Screen sites for fatal geotechnical flaws during due diligence.
• Collaborate with environmental to protect project schedules and IFC dates.
