Qualifications

Job description

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer to join our expanding Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing department in Oxford Mississippi. In this role, you will support a diverse array of projects including residential, commercial, educational, and infrastructure developments (e.g., roads and bridges). You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers to carry out site investigations, lab analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in layout and preparation for soil boring locations and conduct on-site geotechnical investigations
  • Generate boring logs and assist in laboratory test selection and sample processing
  • Contribute to the preparation of geotechnical reports under supervision
  • Provide support to construction materials testing (CMT) operations and coordinate with field technicians
  • Conduct basic engineering calculations for soil bearing capacity and foundation design
  • Review, organize, and manage test data and technical documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 1-3 years of related experience in geotechnical engineering or construction materials testing
  • Possession of or working toward Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is strongly preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
