Job summary

Geotechnical Rec in Houston is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support site investigations, soil sampling, and in-situ testing for client projects. You will assist with design of foundations, slopes, and earthworks, and you will analyze data to inform recommendations.

The ideal candidate holds a geotechnical or civil engineering degree and has 1–4 years of relevant experience, with a strong grasp of soil mechanics and standard geotechnical software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
• 1–4 years of professional geotechnical experience.
• Solid knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation design.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise geotechnical site investigations, soil and rock sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Perform calculations and design for shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and earthworks.
• Analyze laboratory and field test data and report findings clearly.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and geotechnical recommendations for clients and project teams.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, project managers, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Site Investigations: Plan and supervise geotechnical site investigations, soil and rock sampling, and in-situ testing.

Geotechnical Design: Perform calculations and design for shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and earthworks.

Data Analysis: Analyze laboratory and field test data.

Reporting: Prepare clear technical reports, specifications, and geotechnical recommendations for clients and project teams.

Collaboration: Work closely with structural engineers, project managers, and site teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 1 to 4 years of professional experience in a geotechnical consultancy or engineering firm.
• Solid knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation design, and standard geotechnical software.
