Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical EIT/Designer in Vienna, VA to perform analyses and design options for transportation projects. You will work on slope stability, settlement, seepage analyses and assist senior engineers on larger projects, contributing to cost estimates and specifications.

Ideal candidates hold an Engineering degree, are pursuing or have an EIT, and are committed to HDR's employee-owned culture and collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with MS Office and software applications.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications.
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Conduct slope stability, settlement and seepage analysis and conduct geotechnical engineering studies on routine and moderately sized projects.
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT or the ability to obtain. Candidates hired without their EIT will be expected to obtain in 6 months for career progression
  • Local candidates preferred
