Job summary

WSB is seeking a field-based Geotechnical Driller Supervisor in Minnesota to lead drilling crews, operate drill rigs (mud rotary, hollow stem auger, rock coring), and ensure safety standards on sites across varying terrain.

Responsibilities include site preparation with project teams, logging field data, and completing DOT paperwork while traveling to multiple sites. CDL with air brakes is required, plus a health card.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years geotechnical drilling experience strongly desired.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
• Leadership experience in supervising crews is a plus.
• Class A CDL with air brakes required (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Current medical examiner’s certificate/health card required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct drilling crews performing geotechnical and environmental test borings.
• Operate and maintain drill rigs using mud rotary, solid stem, hollow stem auger, and rock coring.
• Drive and operate drill rigs or semi-trucks to job sites; perform maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct soil borings and rock coring across varied conditions (5 to 100+ feet).
• Ensure compliance with National Drilling Association safety standards.
• Collaborate with utility contractors and project teams to prepare sites.
