Job summary

Certerra in Charlotte, NC is hiring a General Drilling Assistant to support the drill crew on geotechnical projects, performing Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), setting up equipment, handling drilling tools, and collecting soil samples.

Responsibilities include assisting with setup, operation and breakdown of drilling equipment, loading tools, and ensuring a safe work environment while following all PPE and safety procedures. Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup, operation and breakdown of drilling equipment.
• Handles drill rods, augers, and other drilling tools.
• Collect, label, and store soil samples during drilling operations.
• Support SPT procedures under the direction of the driller and Project Manager.
• Perform routine cleaning of equipment and maintenance.
• Load and unload tools, supplies, and materials from drill rigs and trucks.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Travel to project sites to perform drilling assignments.
