GFT in Ebensburg, PA is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Driller to join our drilling crews on geotechnical, environmental and structural subsurface projects. You will operate drill rigs, collect field data, and supervise drilling assistants while collaborating with project managers to meet safety and production goals.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid PA driver's license, and willingness to travel.

What You Will Do

GFT is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Driller to work with our drilling crews for geotechnical, environmental and structural subsurface projects. This role is located in Ebensburg, PA. What You Will Be Challenged To Do

As a Geotechnical Driller you will be focused on a wide variety of geotechnical and/or environmental projects. The ideal candidate is a self-starting and motivated individual who can perform with minimal supervision, a team player, and one who takes pride in their work.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Operation drill rig(s) and oversight of drilling operations for auger borings, standard penetration test (SPT) sampling, rock coring, monitoring well installations, infiltration testing and other types of drilling, as required.
• Collection of field data as required by specifications and/or job instructions.
• Training and supervision of drilling assistant on the drilling site.
• Meet production requirements and utilization goals.
• Communication with project managers, inspectors, clients, and supervisors., as required.
• Responsible for routine maintenance, repair and general condition of the drill rigs and other equipment.
• Consistent promotion and adherence to safe work practices, including the use of required personal protective equipment and compliance with site safety plans.
• Operation of DOT regulated vehicles and all responsibilities as required to stay in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations, including record keeping and equipment inspections.
• Travel is required, including occasional weekends and extended periods. All travel expenses, including travel time, are paid.

Education | Experience

• Relevant geotechnical drilling/operating experience
• Valid PA Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Ability to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

What We Prefer You Bring

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated ability to operate track and track mounted drill rigs for geotechnical sampling including coring; hollow and solid-stem augering; split-spoon sampling; etc.
• CDL License a plus

Compensation

The hourly range for this role is $23.00 - $30.00 per/hour. The hourly range is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
