Job summary

ICOP invites motivated civil or geotechnical engineering students to apply for a summer 2026 internship. You will work with a team of engineers to translate classroom knowledge into real-world applications, contributing to ongoing projects and learning through hands-on experience.

The internship offers exposure to design and construction tasks such as aggregates piers, rigid inclusions, and pile systems, plus the project lifecycle from bid to construction.

Qualifications

• Student currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering program.
• Completion of introductory geotechnical engineering courses.
• Transportation to and from work each day required.
• Preference given to previous relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
• Perform field tasks including assisting quality control professionals and coordinating with ICOP project managers.
• Prepare engineering calculations, develop drawings and visual aids.
• Review geotechnical design and analyses under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

ICOP is looking for students pursuing a degree in civil or geotechnical engineering who are interested in an internship for the summer of 2026! During the summer, you will have an opportunity to learn about the following:

• Design and construction of:
  • Aggregate Piers
  • Rigid Inclusions
  • Ductile Iron Pipe Piles
  • Micro Piles
  • Support of Excavation (SOE) systems
• Design-Build project lifecycle including:
  • Project lead generation
  • Bid/proposal development
  • Development of design calculation packages and construction drawings
  • Project management through execution of construction
• Development of soft skills including industry networking, communication practices

Our Intern’s Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
