Job summary

Terracon's Tallahassee office is seeking a Geotechnical Department Manager to lead a staff dedicated to projects in the greater Tallahassee area and surrounding counties extending through the Florida panhandle. You will oversee all projects, ensure compliance, and support client relationships for growth.

You will also develop staffing plans, annual business plans, and monitor key department metrics such as revenue growth, staffing utilization, project billing and profitability, while promoting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science or geology with 5 years' practice; 9 years if no degree.
• Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals and cost estimates for projects.
• Perform business and client development activities with Office Manager support.
• Develop and manage staffing plans, recruitment, and onboarding.
• Prepare and execute annual department business plan.
• Oversee revenue growth, staff chargeability, billing, collections and profitability.
• Promote safety, quality standards and continuous improvement.
