Job summary

McClelland Consulting Engineers (MCE), an ESP Company, is seeking Geotechnical/Construction Materials Interns to join our Little Rock team for Summer 2027. This is a full-time internship offering hands-on field experience and exposure to QA/QC testing on civil engineering projects.

You will calibrate lab equipment, assist with certifications, and support field operations under the supervision of the CMT team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a BS program from an accredited Engineering program (Civil Engineering preferred).
• Ability to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC/QA testing on Civil Engineering projects.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory and field-testing equipment.
• Obtain/maintain certifications for field and lab testing through a State DOT-approved program.
• Operate and maintain a company vehicle during working hours.
• Prepare for field and lab work and keep lab area clean.
• Report to the CMT Supervisor for field work and day-to-day operations.
• Assist Lab Supervisor with laboratory activities and equipment needs.
• Assist in ordering and obtaining lab supplies.
• Seek continual improvement in job performance.
• Be cordial and professional with colleagues, owners/clients, and others involved.
