Geotemps, Inc. in Alaska is seeking a field Technician to support drill sampling, ore control mapping, and geologic mapping with minimal supervision.

You will interact with mine operations, assist survey and ore control efforts, and ensure work follows Kinross Alaska procedures and safety policies. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent (BS in Geology or Engineering preferred), one year drilling experience, knowledge of mining equipment, and strong computer and communication

Formación

• One year experience with RC, rotary air blast and/or core drilling preferred.
• Knowledge of mining equipment and how to interact with it.
• Understand safety rules, company policies, MSHA requirements and environmental guidelines.
• Solid computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Available for shift work, overtime, holidays and weekends.
• Progression through wage scale depends on completion of checklists.

Responsabilidades

• Obtain production drill sample cuttings and deliver for lab sampling.
• Assist geologists with ore control duties including drill hole maps and high wall maps.
• Monitor bench mining progression and ensure ore control release and dispatch data compliance.
• Assist Survey with ore control, dump staking, or pit survey tasks.
• Provide assistance to operations and maintenance personnel.
• Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
• Comply with safety, confidentiality and environmental policies.
• Possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Work safely and identify hazards; correct as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
