Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to develop and maintain geospatial web applications for the USGS EROS Center near Sioux Falls, SD, in a hybrid remote/onsite role.

You will work on mapping tools and data workflows, using PHP, Python, JavaScript, and SQL within a collaborative team. The position requires 3–5 years of related experience, a BS in CS/SE, strong HTML/CSS, and experience with React, jQuery, OpenLayers, Leaflet, Python, and PHP.

Qualifications

• Minimum: software engineering or computer science bachelor's degree.
• 3–5 years of related work experience.
• Experience with web design, administration, and database-driven applications.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, jQuery, OpenLayers, Leaflet) and HTML/CSS.
• Experience with Python and PHP.
• Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of security concepts.
• Experience with collaboration software.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with software engineering methodologies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain websites and mapping applications for visualizing and distributing geospatial data.
• Develop Python scripts that produce geospatial data products.
• Support technologies including PHP, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML.
• Collaborate with a web development team supporting the USGS EROS Integrated Science Applications Branch.
