Job description

NV5 Geospatial (NV5G) is actively recruiting qualified Geospatial Systems Engineers to support national security client sites in Northern Virginia and St. Louis, MO. Candidates will implement advanced ArcGIS deployments, analyze technical problems, optimize performance, and consult with end users on enterprise deployment, architecture, and integration topics.

Security Clearance Requirement: Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility or active TS/SCI.

Work Environment

• Location: Northern Virginia Area (Springfield, VA and/or Vienna, VA)
• Travel: up to 15% of the time

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure ArcGIS across operational environments, cloud providers, security architectures, and customer types to meet service level agreements.
• Plan and execute migration of content between different ArcGIS deployments, covering architectures, deployment strategies, and components.
• Troubleshoot advanced ArcGIS deployments, providing guidance on storage, networking, and security components.
• Work closely with customers and partners to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows for the ArcGIS platform.
• Collaborate internally to align technical objectives and business goals with Esri’s technology platform.

Required Qualifications

• US citizenship with Active or Current (within two years of active) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, GIS, or related STEM field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in a similar role supporting similar responsibilities.
• Experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise ArcGIS or comparable IT systems (desktop, server, online).
• Broad systems administration experience on Windows and/or Linux.
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, C#).
• Familiarity with network concepts (domains, directories, DNS, HTTPS, firewalls, proxies, load-balancing).
• Experience with at least one RDBMS and SQL query writing (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related STEM field.
• Industry-standard IT certifications (Esri, Microsoft, Amazon).
• CompTIA Security+ Certificate.
• Experience with Esri software including ArcGIS Enterprise, Desktop, Online, Portal for ArcGIS, Runtime, and associated APIs.
• Experience with cloud-based system operations (SysOps).
