Job summary

Planet seeks a Solutions Architect I for Professional Services in Arlington, VA. This full-time hybrid role involves applying remote sensing and geospatial expertise to help customers adopt Planet’s platform, while aligning projects with client business and technology strategies.

You will build tools and proofs of concept, develop sample applications, and own the customer success lifecycle from scoping to delivery. Collaboration with sales and cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in the DoD/IC space in a technical capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geography or a related field.
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar systems and code bases.
• Experience working in a dynamic environment with challenging, evolving requirements.
• Willingness to collaborate across teams and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Apply expertise in remote sensing and geospatial technologies to Planet’s Professional Services customers.
• Understand and align project development to customer business and tech strategies.
• Build software tools, proofs of concept and sample apps using Planet APIs and analytics endpoints.
• Own the customer success lifecycle from scoping to execution and documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales to close opportunities and grow Planet’s customer base.
• Influence product direction by gathering insights from engagements and user community.
• Build and maintain APIs for enterprise and federal customers.
• Deliver tailored solutions based on client needs.
• Define and analyze usage metrics to drive customer growth.
