Job description

DEA is seeking a Geospatial & Remote Sensing Project Manager/Client Team Leader (CTL) to join a dynamic team and help grow our Geospatial and Remote Sensing practice throughout the company. The primary focus of this position is to provide excellent service to our clients by managing and delivering high-quality Geospatial and Remote Sensing projects that are completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager/CTL’s responsibilities include writing proposals, developing and managing project budgets and schedules, and overseeing field and office staff. As DEA is committed to using cutting-edge technology, the Project Manager/CTL will have access to a variety of conventional and geospatial tools (GPS, terrestrial laser scanning, unmanned aerial systems, mobile mapping systems, and hydrographic mapping systems) for project utilization. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop tactical action plans for project and/or client pursuits
  • Develop new and maintain existing client relationships within the markets and regions we currently operate
  • Pursuit champion; manage and coordinate pursuits with the business unit business development manager, regional BU and Segment managers, other PMs, and the business unit/marketing manager
  • Identify top desired clients for the year; vet and establish regional client/market development teams
  • Provide input in the development of the business development budget for the BU in the region
  • Meet regional sales goals, client satisfaction, and survey participation results collectively with other business development staff in the Land Development and Transportation markets
  • Quality control oversight
  • Coordinate with other DEA business units and clients
  • Direct the field and office staff in their duties and mentor and coach them to advance within their professions as abilities allow
  • Proposal writing and budgeting for new and existing projects companywide

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to self-manage projects, communicate effectively with clients, and mentor staff at multiple levels
  • Familiarity with state, regional, and national mapping requirements
  • Strong computer skills with software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation Open Roads, and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Experience in proposal writing and project execution
  • Mentoring and leading staff on Geospatial and Remote Sensing techniques and principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Land Surveyor License (PLS), FA Part 107 Certification preferred
  • Familiarity with state, regional, and national mapping requirements
