Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Minnetonka, MN is seeking a Field Services Project Lead to direct our Geospatial Field Services team.

You will coordinate scope, budgets, schedules, and quality while mentoring junior staff and supporting client satisfaction and business development. This role requires 5+ years in surveying or SUE, strong AutoCAD experience, solid project management, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in surveying and/or private utility locating or SUE.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of Private utility locating/SUE.
  • Strong background in project management.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate scopes of work and create budgets and proposal scope language based on client requirements.
  • Effectively manage project teams, tasks, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Manage project budget and analyze profitability, revenue, margins, billing rates, and utilization.
  • Evaluate team and individual performance and provide feedback to the Service Leader.
  • Conduct meetings with project team to evaluate and coordinate the project.
  • Stay current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.
  • Drive value based on innovation and cross-sell other Westwood services based on client needs.
  • Work with the Geospatial Field Services Manager to establish, implement, monitor, and maintain procedures and quality standards for the survey group.
  • Ensure field services work products have a consistent appearance and are delivered efficiently.
  • Work with Field Services Manager and Market Leaders on staffing and workload as it relates to survey.
  • Grow Westwood’s local and national survey presence with focus on pursuing large survey projects.
  • Support office and market-based business development by providing technical expertise and generating revenue.
  • Build, maintain, and grow a strong culture for survey aligned with goals and values.
  • Ensure division, regional, and company values and policies are followed.
  • Lead by example – display solid judgment and professionalism.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project staff.
  • Handle multiple priorities and projects well.

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Field Services Project Lead to join our Geospatial Field Services team. This position will be responsible for supporting the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, quality assurance/quality control, and completion of professional services. Additionally, the role includes training and mentoring of junior staff, client satisfaction, and business development under the direction of the Geospatial and Market Leaders within the Renewables & Power Divisions.

  • Builds, maintains, and grows a strong culture for survey that aligns with the division’s goals, objectives and strategies, and Westwood’s core values.
  • Ensures division, regional, and company, values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the Geospatial service.
  • Leads by example – displays solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project team staff as needed.
  • Handle multiple priorities and projects well.
  • Consistently exercises independent judgment and demonstrates critical thinking skills.
Required Experience:
  • 5-plus years of experience in the surveying and/or private utility locating and or SUE industry.
  • Previous experience in AutoCAD
  • Must have a strong understanding of all aspects of the Private utility locating/SUE profession.
  • Must have a strong background in project management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
