Woolpert seeks an Aviation Geospatial Project Manager to lead national aviation geospatial initiatives. The role focuses on driving profitable growth through client relationships, thought leadership, and collaboration with the Aviation Geospatial Practice Lead.

The ideal candidate will manage project delivery, quality, and financial performance while advancing Woolpert’s presence in the aviation geospatial sector. The position requires substantial travel to clients and Woolpert offices.

Qualifications

  • Requires associate or bachelor degree in a related field with several years of experience.
  • Certification in AAAE, PMP, CP, GISP, PLS or FAA IDLE is desirable but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to travel to client sites and Woolpert offices.
  • Experience with FAA ADIP requirements and advisory circulars is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in BIM/CAD/GIS tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Aviation Geospatial Practice Lead to achieve practice goals.
  • Develop and support a pipeline of new and existing aviation geospatial opportunities.
  • Lead partnerships with aviation industry consultants to win and perform projects.

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Geospatial Project Manager to join our dynamic Aviation National team. As we grow, we are seeking an experienced Aviation Geospatial Project Manager with experience related to: The Airports GIS program, Obstruction Surveys, Facility Asset and Part 139 Management, GIS, BIM, UAS, Mobile Mapping Systems (MMS), Airport and Aeronautical Data and EIM focused programs. The Aviation Project Manager is forward‑looking, collaborative, and will expand Woolpert’s footprint as an industry leader within Aviation Geospatial solutions. Success will be measured by your ability to develop, lead, and manage profitable growth through meaningful client relationships.

What You Will Do
  • Collaborate closely with the Aviation Geospatial Practice Lead and dedicated aviation staff to deliver the practice goals.
  • Assist in business growth of Geospatial services at airports by developing and supporting a pipeline of new and existing business/contract opportunities.
  • Drive partnerships with other consultants in the aviation industry to win and perform projects.
  • Maintain a thought‑leader/Subject Matter Expert profile in the industry by preparing aviation related articles and/or speaking at regional conference presentations.
  • Work with staff to ensure successful project delivery, consistent quality, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and team/office satisfaction.
  • Manage, monitor, and forecast metrics including: Backlog, Profit and Loss, Sales, Net Revenue, Utilization, Continuing Education, and Non‑Billable Travel and Expenses for yourself.
  • Lead and support where appropriate all shortlist presentations for prospective clients and participate in contract negotiations with clients.
  • Provide quality reviews of project documentation including work plans thru final deliverables.
  • Advise clients regarding innovative solutions using Geospatial technologies and content to help them make better decisions.
  • Understand our clients and know their business. Understand how Geospatial services can help our clients be more successful.
What You Will Bring
  • Associate Degree in a related field with a minimum of 10+ years’ of related work experience or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience.
  • AAAE, PMP, CP, GISP, PLS or FAA IDLE certification are highly desirable but not required.
  • PLS or GISP are highly desirable but not required for the role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Thorough understanding of FAA ADIP requirements and associated Advisory Circulars is strongly desired.
  • Understanding of survey principles is strongly desired.
  • Prior experience with BIM/CAD/GIS software is strongly desired.
  • Must be willing to travel to clients, conferences and other Woolpert offices.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment
  • Quickly adapt and respond to industry changes as well as internal initiatives
  • Knowledge of and experience with National CAD and GIS Standards
