Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a GIS Solutions Engineer to translate customer needs into ArcGIS-based geospatial solutions for utilities, telecommunications, and related sectors. You will tailor configurations, information models, and workflows to meet industry requirements and drive successful deployments.

As part of a cross-functional team, you will collaborate with product, development, and services groups to design, test, and document solutions.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in utilities, infrastructure or telecommunications industries.
  • Experience applying ArcGIS to support specific industry workflows.
  • Ability to design, develop, and document GIS solutions spanning organizations and incorporating web, mobile, and desktop applications.
  • Creative problem solver and team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in geography or related field.
  • Knowledge of utility data management, asset management, and related utility workflows.
  • Programming experience with scripting languages such as Python or Arcade.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro and configuring web-based GIS applications.

Responsibilities

  • Discover customer needs and craft geospatial solutions for various utilities and telecommunications industries.
  • Configure ArcGIS apps, tools, and information models for industry-specific uses.
  • Provide input into product design to ensure products are simple to use and provide a great customer experience.
  • Collaborate with customers, software development, business development, and professional services teams to define and develop solutions.
  • Draft and review ArcGIS Solutions product briefs, presentations, and documentation.
  • Design and author test cases for functionality, performance, scalability, and durability.
  • Execute manual and automated tests, analyze test results, and report results.
  • Assess product quality and release readiness and maintain existing ArcGIS Solutions.
  • Present and evangelize solutions to internal and external audiences.
