Job summary

GCI in McLean, VA, seeks a Geospatial Analyst/Software Developer with TS/SCI with Poly to support a mission-focused team. The role combines database administration of Oracle Spatial with ESRI GIS analysis to deliver actionable geospatial insights.

You will develop spatial queries, script data pipelines in Python/SQL, and visualize results using ArcGIS tools, collaborating with analysts to meet urgent needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle spatial, including creating views and optimizing queries.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python and SQL.
• Experience with ESRI GIS tool suite, including ArcGIS and ArchCatalog.
• Strong understanding of geospatial data concepts and spatial analysis techniques.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer an Oracle Spatial database, including tables, procedures, and views.
• Develop and execute spatial queries to support analyst requests to drive business outcomes.
• Utilize scripting languages (e.g. Python, SQL) to parse and process files (CSV, JSON, XML).
• Leverage ESRI GIS tool suite to analyze and visualize geospatial data.
• Collaborate with analysts to understand geospatial data needs and develop solutions.
• Proactively identify opportunities to provide value to analysts based on available datasets.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and strong problem-solving skills.
• Apply data science techniques to create data visualizations and reports; develop data fusion strategies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
