Job summary

World Bank Group is seeking an E T Consultant–Geospatial Data Scientist in Washington, DC to support the Global Program on Nature‑Based Solutions for Climate Resilience. The role focuses on developing geospatial and quantitative tools to assess NBS investments and climate risks, coordinating with Task Teams and partners.

The candidate should have a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant field, extensive GIS/EO experience, and strong communication skills to produce knowledge products and

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a GIS/earth observation related field
• 5+ years of experience in GIS, EO, or climate risk analytics
• PhD is preferred for advanced research roles
• Strong writing and coordination of peer‑reviewed publications

Responsibilities

• Lead development and application of geospatial tools (GPNBS, NBSOS, BIOME)
• Develop EO-data applications for longer-term NBS monitoring
• Collaborate with partners like ESA, NASA, and other GIS teams to advance analytics
• Deliver presentations and knowledge products (blogs, papers)
• Support knowledge sharing and program branding across KIUSD
