Job summary

Leidos is actively seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist to join our Springfield, VA team. You will collect, process, and analyze data to deliver data-driven solutions for maritime mission areas, transforming geospatial data into actionable intelligence for smarter decisions.

Qualifications include a BA with 4–8 years (or MS with 2–6), 1–3 years in data science, experience with Tableau, Python, SQL, and ArcGIS/ESRI tools; TS/SCI clearance with CI poly preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS plus 4–8 years of relevant experience or MS with 2–6 years of relevant experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in data science including data collection/processing, transformation, modeling and analytics.
• 1–3 years of experience with Tableau or equivalent BI software and server functions.
• 3–5 years of programming with Python and Java, and SQL querying.
• Knowledge of data services, modeling, analytics, and version control (Git).
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and analyze data to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Integrate centralized data in DBMS and maintain data quality.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and present results clearly.
• Communicate complex quantitative findings with storytelling and visualization.
• Assist in development/deployment/maintenance of cloud applications for data production processes.
• Develop tools to extract features and metadata from diverse sources (Raster to vector text databases).
• Write/maintain Python scripts in ArcGIS to improve production efficiency.
• Support Business Process Re-engineering and data migration.
• Develop automated Business Analytics and data quality control.
