Leidos Inc. invites a visionary Data Scientist Thought Leader to shape the future of GEOINT through AI/ML and next‑generation geospatial analytics.

You will lead strategic data science directions, collaborate with senior analysts and engineers, and mentor teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities. This role demands excellence in ML, DL, computer vision, and geospatial data handling at scale.

Qualifications

US citizenship is required per contract.
Master's degree in Data Science, AI, Geospatial or related field with 15–20 years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13–16 years of prior relevant experience.
12+ years of experience in data science, AI, and GEOINT.
Proven expertise in ML, DL, geospatial analytics, and AI/ML model development.
Strong communication and leadership skills and ability to influence senior decision-makers.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategic direction for innovative data science and AI solutions within the customer mission space.
Champion AI, reinforcement learning, computer vision, and geospatial AI to drive mission success.
Publish research, deliver talks, and contribute to industry forums to establish Leidos leadership in GEOINT.
Serve as a senior advisor to customer leadership, translating mission needs into data science strategies.
Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to foster innovation and growth.
Oversee design and deployment of complex AI/ML models for geospatial data (satellite imagery, remote sensing).
Drive transformation of GEOINT workflows with cutting-edge solutions and operational integration.
Represent Leidos at conferences and briefings to evangelize data science potential.
