Job summary

The Chan Geomicrobiology Lab in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Delaware is seeking a part-time research technician to support funded projects.

The ideal candidate will perform aseptic techniques, conduct microbiology experiments, follow written protocols, collect and analyze data, and clearly document results in written reports. This role requires attention to detail and a sterile laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Preference given to candidates with a B.S./B.A. in microbiology (preferred) or biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field, or relevant coursework with labs, and/or prior research experience in microbiology or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ongoing experiments including media preparation, microbial culture maintenance, cell counting, microscopy, protein purification, proteomic sample preparation, and maintaining a safe, clean, and sterile work environment.
