Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Software Engineer for Map Build's Geometric Generation team in Mountain View to own the 3D spatial foundation for the Aurora Driver. You will process lidar logs into offline maps, tackling speed and scale challenges as Aurora expands to new routes.

The role requires strong C++, 3D geometry, and optimization skills, with experience in SLAM, pose-graph methods, and large data pipelines. In-person collaboration at the Mountain View office is expected.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Robotics/EE.
• 3+ years of professional C++ software development.
• Experience with 3D geometry, point-cloud processing and SLAM.
• Strong background in linear algebra and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and own geometric map-generation algorithms for Aurora Driver.
• Improve scalability of large-scale map-build pipeline stages.
• Identify and fix failure modes with measurable goals.
• Collaborate on data contracts and integration requirements.
