Job summary

VHB seeks a Geomatics Summer Intern to support field data collection and the preparation of survey maps and CAD files within its Geomatics team. You will work with experienced professionals and gain exposure to progressive surveying technologies.

In this temporary role, you will gain hands-on experience with hydrographic/topographic data collection, CAD drafting, and office tasks while developing practical surveying skills in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Undergraduate enrollment in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and judgment abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support field crew in collecting hydrographic and topographic data.
• Gain exposure to conventional survey methods.
• Assist with crane rail surveys.
• Perform construction layout.
• Assist with CAD drafting, data download, deed and map research, and filing.
• Maintain survey equipment and initiate repairs as necessary.
• Stay current on surveying practices and attend internal training.
• Perform other duties as requested.
