Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is hiring a Core Technician/Geological Technician for on-site work in Colorado. The role involves processing, transporting and storing sample material, core photography, assay submissions and data management in a mining environment.

You will support QA/QC, inventory, safety meetings and field GPS surveys, with a strong emphasis on accurate documentation and safety. Minimum two years of related experience and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as Core Technician/Geological Technician.
• Ability to read and understand safety-related instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Photograph core.
• Assay sample submittal and tracking.
• Evaluate sample material/intervals.
• Manual handling and transport of sample material.
• Prep samples for analysis including QA/QC samples.
• Slit and/or saw core.
• Purchase and track inventory and supplies; logging, barcode handling, data entry.
• Administer service orders; invoice reconciliation/processing.
• Administer Facilities/Asset Maintenance Program.
• Support Sample Standards Program.
• Assist with safety coordination and safety meetings.
• Field GPS survey support and data management.
• Assist with database management and data validation; digitizing and modeling support.
• Drill log and data management including QA/QC program support.
• Perform other duties as required.
