Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time at a four-year university pursuing a Geology degree or closely related field.
• Recent graduate within 12 months pursuing Geology or closely related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and demonstrates strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Highly accurate, detail oriented, with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist exploration geologic staff on various projects under supervision.
• Spend time at Freeport-McMoRan locations; mix of field and office work.
• Create sample labels and submit samples for lab analysis with data transfer systems.
• Retrieve lab analyses and load results into a relational database.
• Digitize geological maps and cross-sections; log drill cuttings and core samples.
• Support district exploration and geology department activities.
