Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. invites an undergraduate Geology student for a summer Geology Internship in the Cripple Creek area. The program runs mid-May to mid-August and exposes you to open-pit operations, sampling, logging, and basic mapping under experienced mentors.

You will gain hands-on experience, work with professionals, and contribute to real projects that support site goals. Eligibility includes US work authorization and enrollment in a geology-related degree.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Geology program in North America.
• Expected graduation date of December 2026 or later.
• Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Assists in exploration activities and development drilling programs within the property boundary.
• Assists in sampling programs and collection of rock samples.
• Assists with drilling activities and logging of drill cuttings or core.
• Participates in basic geologic mapping and interpretation of mineralization.
• Develops a project reporting findings to site management at internship end.
• Adheres to safety procedures and site policies.

Job Description:

SSR Mining’s summer intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled in mining-related degrees as full-time students at an accredited, four-year college or university in North America. Internships typically run from mid-May to mid-August.

By providing a structured program and access to the top minds and technology in mining today, your internship will equip you with the skills and experience to help prepare you for a successful career. Geology interns will become familiar with large scale open pit run-of-mine heap leach mining operations.

Day to Day:

The key responsibilities of the Geology Intern include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assists in the exploration activities and development drilling programs within the property boundary
• Assists in sampling programs
• Collects collect rock samples within a pre-established sampling grid within the exploration area.
• Assists with the drilling activities and logging of the cuttings and/or core from the drills.
• Assist in the processing of the core.
• Participates in basic geologic, pit, highwall and road cut mapping.
• Assists with the drilling programs at the mine site.
• Interprets mineralization and geologic contacts on section and plans.
• Gains experience with the QA/QC procedures and protocol of the entire process of the collection of the drill samples through to the laboratory to the database.
• Develop and implement a project reporting the findings to site management at the end of the internship.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, policies and best practices.
• This role requires frequent interaction with department employees, supervision, management and on a regular basis

Base Pay: $32.71
