Job summary

Repsol is seeking a Geology & Geophysics Intern based in The Woodlands, TX. The role is an onsite summer internship running May–Aug, with a daily hourly wage and no benefits or PTO.

Interns work with a cross‑functional team to support subsurface data tasks and project activities. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in Geology or a related geoscience and are available for the full duration, with strong analytical, organizational and communication skills, and a serious interest in oil and gas

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled for Fall 2027 and not graduated before start.
• Proven detail‑oriented and analytical capabilities.
• Strong written and oral communication with technical and non‑technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day tasks and project activities.
• Assist with data compilation, organization, and basic interpretation of subsurface data.
• Help prepare maps, exhibits, presentations, and technical documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and cross‑functional discussions.

Internship Details:

Position will be based out of our office in the Woodlands, TX. Interns are expected onsite Monday‑Friday, with the exception of 9/80's. The 9/80 schedule is optional per the manager's discretion, based on intern project scope and timeline. Non‑local candidates may be considered but must arrange their own travel and temporary accommodations. A summer stipend will be provided to help offset out of pocket expenses. Students must be available for the full duration of the internship from May 17th - Aug 6th. Any personal time off must be approved by the supervisor as unpaid leave and should be noted with the recruiter as early as possible. Interns will receive an hourly wage but are not eligible for benefits or paid time off. Interns will be compensated for observed company holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Support team members with day‑to‑day tasks and project activities
• Assist with data compilation, organization, and basic interpretation of subsurface data
• Help prepare maps, exhibits, presentations, and technical documentation
• Participate in team meetings, reviews, and discussions to gain insight into subsurface workflows
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams as needed
• Follow established safety standards, procedures, and company policies

Qualifications:

• Fully authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.
• Successful completion of 2 years towards a Bachelor's (or higher) in Geology or a related geoscience field (Earth Science, Environmental Science, Geophysics)
• Must be a currently enrolled student for the Fall 2027 semester.
• Candidates should not have graduated before the start of the internship.
• Detail‑oriented, a strong analytical background
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products
• Demonstrate an understanding and enthusiasm for the oil and gas industry
• Strong written and oral communication skills with a variety of technical and non‑technical staff
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Professional conduct is fundamental to success in this position
• Proven organizational and time management skills
