Job summary

Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit is seeking a Geologist Laborer for a 12-month temporary assignment related to the Mason Project in Nevada, with work at the Copper World Project near Sahuarita, Arizona.

The role involves field and yard duties, including drill core handling, sampling, and light equipment operation, under Senior Geologist supervision. A HS diploma or GED and a strong work ethic are required; MSHA certification and prior mine/site experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Move and unstack pallets of drill core and restack in correct locations.
• Sample drill core from storage yard following safety and quality practices.
• Collect rock samples from road cuts and split drill cores with an automated saw (training provided).
• Operate small equipment such as a skid steer or forklift as needed.
• Maintain daily progress reports and assist geology and survey teams in field work.
• Support other departments at Helvetia or Mason sites with labor tasks as required.
