Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Geologist 3 to work under the Engineering Geology Manager in the Geotechnical Engineering Group. Roles include supporting projects across energy, transportation, and community development with travel across PA, OH, WV, and VA.

The position emphasizes fieldwork, subsurface investigations, and geotechnical monitoring. Candidates should have a geology degree and PG license, and 5–8+ years of experience. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. or M.S. in Geology or Engineering Geology.
• 5-8+ years of experience in engineering geology is preferred.
• Must possess a Professional Geologist license and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering geology assignments including subsurface investigations and site characterization.
• Perform earthwork monitoring and foundation inspection, interpret specs and field drawings.
• Prepare boring logs, cross sections, and assist with proposals, budgets, and reports.
• Assist geotechnical designs: slope stability, foundation recommendations, landslide remediation.
• Travel for fieldwork, local daily or weekly out-of-town trips.
