Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geologist II to contribute to geologic and hydrologic studies, support remediation tasks, and assist in delivering high-quality service documents on projects both locally and nationally.

You will perform field work, assist with contaminated site remediation, develop design options, and prepare deliverable documents while working on medium-size projects and collaborating with senior scientists.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Field work experience required.

Overview

In the role of Geologist II, we count on you to contribute to geologic and hydrologic studies, support remediation tasks, and assist in delivering high-quality service documents on projects both locally and nationally.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with geologic and hydrologic studies, including field work, and other hydrologic, geologic, and geophysical tasks both locally and nationally
  • Assist with contaminated site remediation tasks
  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of service deliverable documents
  • Perform assignments requiring application of moderately complex objectives and limited variables
  • Work independently on medium-size projects or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Prior experience with field work
  • Experience with well installation techniques, and groundwater and soil sampling procedures and analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures)
  • May require ability to travel
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in Geology or a closely related field (if applicable)
  • Additional certifications or specialized training relevant to geoscience field work
  • Experience with environmental regulations and compliance documentation
