Job summary

HDR in Michigan is seeking a skilled Hydrogeologist to support waste sector projects and environmental stewardship initiatives. You will conduct hydrologic analyses, design field studies, and prepare technical memos, contributing to cleaner environments and safer communities.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and experience with GIS, Total Station, GPS software, and strong technical writing. Willingness to work in field locations is valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Environmental Studies, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or related field.
  • Proficiency with GIS, Excel, and word processing tools.
  • Familiarity with field data collection and data analysis.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in teams.

In the role of a Hydrogeologist, we'll count on you to

  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and modeling
  • Help design and conduct field studies and be responsible for data collection, compilation and analysis for a variety of hydrology-related projects
  • Draft technical memos or reports
  • Perform other related duties as necessary
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Water Resources or closely related field
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with technical evaluations and conceptual modeling
  • Demonstrated basic working skills with GIS, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Total Station experience (GPS and associated software)
  • Strong technical writing skills are also necessary
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • May require field work in remote areas
