Job summary

SET Environmental, Inc. seeks a Geologist to assist project managers with field work, data collection, and environmental assessments. The role includes soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling, overseeing drilling, and developing monitoring wells. You will contribute to Phase I/II ESAs and regulatory compliance.

The position requires a BS in environmental disciplines, 1–5 years of experience, and travel up to 50%. EIT or PG preferred; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.
  • 1–5 years of experience in Environmental Engineering field.
  • EIT or Professional Geologist preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 25%–50%.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers in execution of project work on time and within budget.
  • Perform field work: soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.
  • Oversee drilling activities and log soil; install and develop groundwater monitoring wells.
  • Complete Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Evaluate data against state/federal cleanup standards.
  • Prepare SWPPPs and SPCCs for clients.
  • Provide environmental expertise for projects and improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and change management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION DESCRIPTION A Geologist at SET Engineering is
responsible to: Assist project managers in execution of project work on
time and within budget Perform field work consisting of soil,
groundwater, and vapor sampling Complete environmental investigation
activities such as overseeing drilling activities, logging soil, and
installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells Complete Phase I
and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments Evaluate environmental data
comparing data to state or federal clean-up standards Complete
stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs)for commercial and
industrial clients Prepare spill prevention, control and countermeasure
plans (SPCC) for commercial and industrial clients Provide environmental
expertise for new projects and project improvements Lead continuous
improvement efforts and assess management of change requirements Perform
Miscellaneous Duties As Needed POSITION REQUIREMENTS BS In Environmental
Engineering, Geology, or related discipline. 1-5 years of experience in
the Environmental Engineering field EIT, Professional Geologist
preferred Excellent communication, both verbal and written, as well as
organizational skills Ability to interact professionally and
independently within the company and with the customer, vendors, and
associates Must be flexible to work different hours as needed by the
department/business Willingness and ability to work outdoors in
challenging conditions Excellent computer skills including Microsoft
Office programs (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) Knowledge of
government environmental compliance regulations and procedures Ability
to travel (25%-50%) OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred SET
