Job Description

AECOM is seeking a self‑motivated, experienced Geologist for our Denver, Colorado office. In this important position, the successful candidate will support Project Managers in the planning, oversight of fieldwork, and evaluation of hydrogeologic and reporting phases for a wide range of multidisciplinary environmental projects. Projects include large Federal clients, Refineries, and numerous commercial clients. The role has a preference to be based out of Denver, CO, but other locations can include Boulder, Ft. Collins, Colorado Springs or Glenwood.

Responsibilities
  • Manage field‑based tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
  • Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and communicate with PMs.
  • Data management, evaluation and report writing with experience drafting environmental investigation and closure reports.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays; expected travel time would be greater than 50 % of the time.
  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, maintain a positive attitude, mentor junior staff, and commit to workplace health and safety.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in geology or a relevant geological science discipline (e.g., geophysics, hydrogeology, or geochemistry).
  • 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre‑employment substance abuse test.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate.
  • Familiarity with common drilling techniques for environmental work.
  • Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Knowledge of RCRA or CERCLA processes.
  • Experience with local regulatory agencies.
  • Reporting experience in routine monitoring, site investigation work plans, conceptual site model, and well installation reports.
  • Task management or project management experience.
  • Proposal writing a plus.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $70,000 to $110,000 per year.
