Job summary

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Geological Technician I to support core sampling preparation, primarily underground, core logging, daily recordkeeping, and storage for geological modeling and ore deposit identification. This position is located at our 28 Mine in Viburnum, MO.

Starting at $17.75/hour with a 5% targeted monthly bonus, the role includes paid time off and day-one insurance benefits, on-the-job training, and opportunities for career growth through hands-on experience in mineral

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to obtain forklift certification upon hiring.
Valid driver’s license.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases.

Responsibilities

Follow detailed procedures for receiving, organizing and preparing underground and surface core for logging and sampling (sawing, crushing, splitting, dumping).
Inspect and log underground diamond drill core into the database.
Review logging data to determine core to be assayed based on ore mineralization and geologic features.
Follow QAQC procedures in sampling and preparation of samples for assay.
Record, store, organize, and locate saved drill core and assay pulps.
Utilize forklift to organize pallets of diamond drill core.
Maintain core facilities in a clean and safe condition.
